From the earliest days of Belleek basket making the structure and the weave of the base of the basket indicates the age of the basket and date when it was made.
     Our annual baskets each celebrate the elements that were important then and still are now, in creating a hand crafted Belleek basket. This beautiful basket incorporates the three-strand weave on the base of the basket that was introduced as a feature by William Henshall in the 1860’s. The shape and Lily blossoms are however a unique new design and thus in this basket is the perfect combination of old techniques with new floral arrangements and shape.
     Each craftsperson, after undergoing several years training, develops their particular individual style of flower making. The floral decoration on this basket is the culmination of the art of the craft.
     The Lily Blossoms Basket is a limited edition and only 1,500 baskets will ever be crafted. Each one is also individually numbered and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Is also has a special backstamp denoting its year of production.
